Hey, mumshies! It’s me again, your millennial mother on social media!
Aquaria KLCC is an oceanarium located beneath Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre within Kuala Lumpur City Centre.
Last December we took a family trip to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia and we had a great time. When people ask why we chose Kuala Lumpur for our vacation, they do not realize that there are a lot of fun activities for kids. Yes, they might not have a Disney Land, or any major amusement park but there are a lot of kid’s activities to choose from.
On our 2nd day in Kuala Lumpur, we visited the Aquaria KLCC to experience what it has to offer. Aquaria KLCC serves as a home to over 150 species of marine life such as tiger sharks, sea snakes, blue rays, bright colored fish of all sizes and so much more. This was a perfect activity for the whole family because it was located in a prominent mall which gave us time to grab lunch before entering the Aquaria KLCC.
Before entering the mall, we took the chance to see the famous Petronas Towers. The KLCC mall had a lot of shopping to offer so we killed our time and did a little shopping before entering Aquaria KLCC.
We booked our tickets ahead of time using the Klook app, and it turned out to be cheaper than the usual price. Fair warning for all, the line- up to get your tickets took us almost a full hour. Better come on a weekday and especially not on a holiday. We came before New Year’s Eve weekend so we already anticipated how much people we were going to see that day. Aquaria KLCC came prepared for they have a waiting lounge right beside the entrance door.

As soon as we got inside we were welcomed with different types of sea animals. We saw otters swimming around, and different kinds of fish from different parts of the world.
Everyone had a great time taking pictures with the fish and observing how they behaved. The different colors we saw were really intriguing. They had everything from small fish, big fish, and sharks! Aiden’s favorite was the huge stingrays that kept swimming from above him!
We were then leading up to a large aquarium where we could stand and see all different kinds of underwater animals. Unlike other aquariums that we’ve been to, this one had a conventional moving walkway which made it easy and safe for all the kids. No need to push people out of the way to get a better view because everyone will eventually have a turn.
All the kids (and adults too!) had so much fun in Aquaria KLCC. The exciting aquariums and all the new underwater animals that we’ve never seen before was a sight to see. The aquarium was certainly a place to go when visiting Kuala Lumpur. The location was perfect for a big group because once you are done from the aquarium, the group can easily grab food or shop in KLCC Mall. There was no food being sold inside, so better have a full tummy before entering the aquarium.
No flash photography is allowed inside the aquarium so make sure you have your phones ready for perfect shots. It can get a little crowded inside so don’t let your kids out of your sight.
That’s all for today mumshies!
