How do we keep our kids active even during the lockdown?
This was our primary concern when the government announced that classes will be canceled this year, we relied so much on school for social interaction and physical activities for our children. But since the pandemic started, we’ve tried our best to keep them entertained and happy at home.
Here are some things we did to keep them active despite the pandemic:
🌼 We take them to dance class- we found a perfect place where the kids can release some energy and express their creativity without the harm of being infected. We enrolled them to dance classes where they are the only students! The kids have been enjoying their dance lessons and they get to leave the house twice a week for this reason.
🌼 We bring them to parks- luckily our village has numerous parks where they can play and spend the day exploring.
🌼 We give them swimming lessons- we live just beside the village pool and we are able to bring them at any time of the day for some exercise and swimming lessons. My husband and I teach them ourselves and now they have been confident and independent when swimming.
🌼 We let them use their bikes before TV- we gave them a new rule that they have to spend 30 minutes to an hour playing outside before they can switch to Netflix at night. We try our best to keep them away from screen time, and so far, this technique has been working well.
It is important to keep our kids happy and active even during a pandemic, and we must step up and do this with them. Admittedly, due to my last trimester of pregnancy, this has been harder for me to do, but I try my best to be active with them at all times.
How about you moms? How do you keep your kids active?
