Hey everyone, how are you? It’s been a while since I last posted a new blog, and the main reason is, well, life has been very stagnant. As you all know, the whole world is being asked to stay at home to prevent the virus from getting bigger than it already is. So here’s a little update about the Taylor Family.
Ever since the middle of March, the kids have been staying at home and doing our online classes. We had to finish the last 2 months of school at home with the help of our teachers. This was very difficult for everyone since we made this transition almost immediately. So now that school is over, we do our best to give 2-3 days of homeschooling work for the kids to practice their reading, writing, and math.
I went back to baking! The first few weeks of the Quarantine made me feel anxious and scared. There were a lot of thoughts in my head with what the new normal would mean for our family and our life. I didn’t let my anxieties win and focused on being productive. I’ve always had great luck with baking, and I relaunched my Baking business which is Mrs. Taylors Bakery! We’ve been busy baking, delivering orders, meeting up with buyers, and looking for more recipes to make. Baking really saved me from overthinking and earning money while in Quarantine was a plus!
I’ve been living in my workout clothes! Since I have baking, my husband and I manage our anxiety and stress together by working out. We invested in a workout machine that we both can use, and challenge ourselves to work out together at least 3 times a week. Yoga, yoga, and more yoga! I fell back in love with Yoga! Since I was training to become a Pilates Instructor I didn’t want to waste all my core and strength training just because of the lockdown. So I focused on Yoga-lates training through online classes or even just watching YouTube videos.
I’m a Plant Mama! Yes, I have surrendered to nature and started to take care of plants. My mom has always loved gardening but I never really given a chance since I was too busy to water them but since I have all the time in the world, I’ve given gardening a try! And now, I’m hooked! It started with just one plant, but my husband calls our house “The Jungle” with all the indoor plants we have! He doesn’t complain because the house looks better with plants and we can breathe cleaner air while on lockdown.
We’ve cleaned every part of our house! Our house was always clean, don’t get me wrong. But staying at home made us realize how much clutter we have! I started with one cluttered area and converted it to my yoga space, then I went to clean up and renovate our whole storage and area, and wow, I had to throw and give so many things away! Our next goal is the kid’s room, maybe adding a new double-deck? We’ll see!
I’ve been keeping myself productive with FB Live sessions. One reason why my YouTube channel hasn’t had any new videos is that I gave more attention to my Facebook and Instagram friends. I interact and communicate with different moms on how they are handling the new normal and it has been so much on my emotional self. In my own simple way, I want to entertain them by creating Live sessions weekly to talk about anything that comes to mind. I also did FB Live Sessions with Pampers, Davao Mommy Bloggers, and a few other Mom bloggers!
Our kids have been productive this whole Quarantine and we try our best to limit their screen time. We do all sorts of activities to keep them active and out of the house, well, only until the next block but hey, it’s a great way to get fresh air and exercise!
So that’s it! That’s a quick update on our life as a family of 4. This pandemic really made us realize how change is constant. We can never expect to stay the same in our life, and change will come to us by surprise. As moms, we should learn how to adjust, and change our ways for our family. I hope that wherever you may be, that you find some peace in your mind and heart. That you find ways to deal with anxiety, and that you are being safe and away from harm. Til the next blog, thanks for sticking around. Ciao!
